Our very popular astronomy workshop is back and will be held at Lime Tree observatory in Grewelthorpe this Feb. We will have access to their three telescopes and planetarium for the evening and will have one of their amazing guides teaching about the night sky in this area.

Join the Wildish Club for a cosy afternoon in Wildish, making beautiful Christmas wreaths using natural greenery and woodland finds. Fran will be leading the workshop and has been making natural Christmas wreaths for years. She will guide us through a delightful afternoon spent making together.

YORKSHIRE DALES: A Wildish Walk Through Time

Led by archaeologist Dr Rose Ferraby, this relaxed walk will follow a gentle route along the edge of the valley at Pateley Bridge. We’ll be thinking about how we see time at different scales in the landscape, from stone monuments and quarries to the less visible traces of human lives. We’ll think about how Nidderdale has changed, and how we imagine what has come before. We’ll end back at Wildish. Bring: sturdy footwear, waterproofs, warm clothes (always windier up top!).

Take a walk on the wyrd side with Wildish Club on Sunday 12th October, as we follow ancient story lines into Guisecliffe Woods and step into the fairytales, myths and folklore of one of Nidderdale's most enchanted corners.

The Wildish Club links up with the Yorkshire Dales Peat Partnership to explore Nethergill Farms wildlife haven and learn how to identify and monitor dragonflies and understand peatland restoration.

Join the Wildish Club Yorkshire Dales for our first Wildish Navigation course! Dan is going to teach us the art of getting unlost, the essentials of map reading and how to plot routes. We will then put this to practice with a navigation scavenger hunt!

YORKSHIRE DALES: Introduction to visible mending - Mend with Liv

Join the Wildish Club Pateley as we learn the art of visible mending with Liv this winter! We have been doing a number of online events with Liv, learning how to darn, repair knit wear and embroider garments. Its been so relaxing and such fun so we thought we would run a mending workshop!

COMMUNITY GARDEN LAUNCH

Come to our first workshop and launch of the Pateley Bridge Wildish Community Garden. We have the greenhouse, we have the shed, but now we have to design how we want the garden to be. In this first workshop, garden designers Megan and Lizzie will be teaching us how to design the layout of a garden.

Having just read The Lost Rainforests of Britain by Guy Shrubsole, I have become convinced that Nidderdale must have a temperate rainforest amidst the beauty that is our dale! So I think the Wildish Club should go and find it and see if we can get it registered!
