About the Event

Spring marks the return of migratory birds to Nidderdale, making it one of the most exciting times of year to explore the valley’s bird life.

Join us for a guided introduction to bird watching led by Stephen Harwood, a highly knowledgeable local bird watcher and member of the Nidderdale Bird Watchers. Stephen will help us tune into the landscape and discover the birds that call this area home.

We’ll meet in the village of Ramsgill before walking together to the quieter back end of Gouthwaite Reservoir, an area well known for its rich bird habitats and excellent viewing opportunities.

During the morning you’ll learn the fundamentals of bird watching — from spotting birds in the landscape to recognising calls and identifying species. As the spring migration unfolds, we’ll keep an eye out for birds returning to the valley after the winter months.

This gentle, guided session is perfect for beginners and…
