London: Winter BBQ End of Year Special

For this year’s festive Wildish gathering, we’re teaming up with our friends at London Bushcraft for a cosy outdoor winter BBQ. This session is about embracing winter by learning some bushcraft skills and sharing food together round a campfire.

Join Rob and Hannah for a fun Wildish gathering as we have a go at some stargazing! We'll be on the lookout for planets, try to spot some well-known asterisms and how they fit into bigger constellations. With the new moon being 20th November it should give us the best chance of spotting stars.

Join us for a wander along London’s longest linear nature reserve. We’ll follow the old Alexandra Palace to Finsbury Park to railway line—now an beautiful green corridor passing through the heart of North London.

Join Rob and Hannah as we explore slightly further afield to enjoy Broxbourne Woods, following the NNR trail in Hoddesdon park Wood which forms part of the Hertfordshire’s only National Nature Reserve.

Join us for a fun Wildish gathering as we try to catch a glimpse of the dazzling planets visible this time of year! We'll be on the lookout for Saturn, Jupiter, Mars, and maybe even Venus.

London: New River Walk & Regents Canal

Join us for an extended leg of the Heritage section of the New River Path. As Thames Water says, 'It isn’t new and it isn’t a river'. The New River is actually a water supply aqueduct built in 1613 to bring fresh drinking water from Hertfordshire to North London.'

Join Hannah and Rob, as London Wildish Club explores London’s newest walking route - the Green Link. The Green Link connects nearly 40 areas of green spaces from the outskirts Epping Forest to Peckham, passing right through the City of London.

LONDON: Epping Forest Centenary Walk - Wood Street to Chingford

Join Hannah and Rob as London Wildish completes part of the Epping Forest Centenary Walk. We will follow the river Ching in parts and consider how the water shapes the environment we are travelling through and how humans have also shaped the river.

LONDON: Rainham RSPB Reserve

Join Hannah and Rob for a wildish walk along to Rainham Marshes, an RSPB nature reserve. We will be visiting what is regarded by the RSPB as a 'peaceful paradise for wetland birds' on the margins of the capital, where you can spot waders, wildfowl, warblers and owls.

LONDON: Camley Street Nature Reserve & Picnic

Join Hannah and Rob, for a guided walk of beautiful Camley Street Natural Park, part of the London Wildlife Trust site. We will meet outside the visitor centre and then explore the pond habitats through a series of pond dipping activities, as well as some minibeast hunting. (Nets for pond dipping)

LONDON: Bushey Park (London) Ramble

Join Rob and Hannah as we take a stroll through Bushey Park, where history meets natural beauty. We will also take a short pause to sketch in nature. We will provide some small pieces of card and a pencil to use, but please feel free to bring your own sketch pad, something to lean on and a pencil.

Our first Wildish Walk of 2024 will take place on Hampstead Heath. The Heath has provided an outdoor escape for Londoners for over two centuries. In this circular walk, we’ll explore its woodlands, ponds and viewpoints and chat about the decades-long conversation movement that protected it.

LONDON WORKSHOP: Introduction to Bouldering

Join Rob and Hannah at City Bouldering White City for an introductory bouldering session on Thursday night. There will be an hour long session led by qualified instructors, and the opportunity to continue climbing until close or head to the bar area for a delicious post climb pint!
