Join us for an extended leg of the Heritage section of the New River Path. As Thames Water says, 'It isn’t new and it isn’t a river'. The New River is actually a water supply aqueduct built in 1613 to bring fresh drinking water from Hertfordshire to North London.'
We’ll start at Haggerston, travel together down Regents Canal and join the New River Path at Angel. We’ll follow the path to Stoke Newington’s beautiful Clissold Park, stopping by the Fallow Deer enclosure. From there, we'll pass through Abney Park - one of the 'Magnificent Seven' garden cemeteries of London - and finish at Stoke Newington Overground station.
Please note, this is a point to point walk from Haggerston to Stoke Newington Overground.
TIMINGS: Meet at 13:30, for a 13:45 prompt start and finish around 16:30
