    Join us for a relaxed wander through a pretty Dale just East of Hathersage. We'll walk in the direction of Higger Tor and Burbage valley before looping back to Hathersage where we can have a drink at Open House and log what we’ve seen in the community log book (hopefully some early signs of spring) There is an option to extend the walk and head up to Higger Tor on the day.     Join LWC for our first walk of 2026 — a gentle winter ramble through some of South East London’s quieter green spaces. We’ll take in Oxleas Wood and stop by Severndroog Castle, a surreal Gothic hilltop tower, before finishing near Maryon Wilson Park with the chance to say hello to the goats, pigs and hopefully even spot some deer. Around 9.6 km, mostly flat, with some mud, crisp air, friendly faces and seasonal noticing. We’re starting a little earlier make the most of the winter light.

There is a ticketed dance event at Open House starting at 6:30pm if anybody wants to join Rachel for this.

    Join Bex for our Wildish Christmas Walk doing part of the Saunton Way. From Finchdean, we’ll climb up onto the top of the downs. At 140m, there are panoramic views across the downs — from the Solent in the south to Queen Elizabeth Country Park in the north.
