Open House, HathersageLets mark the winter solstice with a Wildish walk. The plan is to head up to Surprise View at Millstone Edge just in time for sunset. After the walk we can go back into Hathersage, log any nature sightings in the community log book and toast a festive drink! There is a ticketed dance event at Open House starting at 6:30pm if anybody wants to join Rachel for this.




Car Park opposite The George Inn, Finchdean, Waterlooville PO8 0AU, UKJoin Bex for our Wildish Christmas Walk doing part of the Saunton Way. From Finchdean, we’ll climb up onto the top of the downs. At 140m, there are panoramic views across the downs — from the Solent in the south to Queen Elizabeth Country Park in the north.
Curbar Gap Car ParkJoin us on this walk which takes us along Curbar edge, Froggat edge and White edge. This walk starts from Curbar edge car park and along the way we will see some lovely rock formations along Curbar edge and if the weather is being kind we should have some lovely views of the valley below as we walk along these stunning gritstone edges.


Wildish, 14 High St, Pateley Bridge, Harrogate HG3 5AW, UKJoin the Wildish Club for a cosy afternoon in Wildish, making beautiful Christmas wreaths using natural greenery and woodland finds. Fran will be leading the workshop and has been making natural Christmas wreaths for years. She will guide us through a delightful afternoon spent making together.
Dovecote, Church End, Willington, Dovecote, Church End, Willington, Bedford MK44 3PX, UKJoin us for a relaxing afternoon at the private woodland, Matchstick Woods, next to the River Great Ouse. We'll take a winding walk through the woods, then gather round a crackling campfire to unwind. Enjoy the warmth and tranquillity as we make tea and coffee on the fire and toast marshmallows.
Alstonefield Car Park, DE6 2FYOn this Peak District classic we’ll explore Dovedale along the river with its unusual limestone rock formations and caves such as Dove Holes, Ilam Rock and Reynards cave. We’ll stop to have a look around before crossing a bridge into the quiet and lesser known Hall Dale and then back to Alstonefield village. After the walk there’s the option to go to the village cafe or pub. The walk is approx. 7km and should around 2.5 hours.
Meet at Wildish in Pateley BridgeLed by archaeologist Dr Rose Ferraby, this relaxed walk will follow a gentle route along the edge of the valley at Pateley Bridge. We’ll be thinking about how we see time at different scales in the landscape, from stone monuments and quarries to the less visible traces of human lives. We’ll think about how Nidderdale has changed, and how we imagine what has come before. We’ll end back at Wildish. Bring: sturdy footwear, waterproofs, warm clothes (always windier up top!).
Open House, Open House, Main Rd, Hathersage, Hope Valley S32 1BB, UKJoin Rachel and Lou for another Wildish wander starting with a coffee and catch up at our community hub Open House. We'll head North out of the village along hedgerow lined Baulk lane, through a pretty vale with views of Stanage Edge before passing Bronte cottage and North Lees Hall.
Hampstead station (Northern Line), Underground Ltd, Hampstead High St, London NW3 1QG, UKJoin Rob and Hannah for a fun Wildish gathering as we have a go at some stargazing! We'll be on the lookout for planets, try to spot some well-known asterisms and how they fit into bigger constellations. With the new moon being 20th November it should give us the best chance of spotting stars.


Revival Speciality Coffee, 43 Hyndland St, Glasgow G11 5QF, UKJoin us for a Wildish Wander around Glasgow. Meet at Revival (Coffee Shop) for 9am, grab a coffee and then head off for a walk at 9:30am. The walk we are intending is towards the Claypits along the canal. We will enter the nature reserve and then loop round before heading back to Revival to finish.
Box Hill & Westhumble Station, Westhumble St, Westhumble, Dorking RH5 6BT, UKJoin Hannah, Rob and London Wildish Club for our first winter hike of the season as we venture into the wooded hills and chalk downland of Box Hill – a National Trust gem offering sweeping valley views, stepping stones and ancient yew forests.


The Burley Inn, The Cross, Burley, Ringwood BH24 4AB, UKJoin Bex for a walk filled with folklore and witchcraft in the historic New Forest. The walk will start in the historic village of Burley, hidden deep in the majestic forest and known for its natural beauty, quaint streets and it’s magical connection.
