Grown high in Rwanda’s Rulindo District, Glow comes from the Cooperative Coffee Rusiga Sector (KCRS), a women-led cooperative working across small village farms. Coffee is grown at altitude alongside food crops, supporting quality, food security, and year-round livelihoods. Working collectively, farmers share knowledge, training, and support - helping each harvest care for both people and place.

glow - rwanda kcrs
Glow is grown in the highlands of Rwanda’s Rulindo District, where the Cooperative Coffee Rusiga Sector (KCRS) brings women farmers together across a network of small villages. Formed to strengthen knowledge, training, and support, the cooperative has become a vital part of the local community, helping farmers improve quality while working collectively. KCRS is a women-led cooperative, with farmers owning and managing the land themselves. Working in village-based groups makes training and travel more accessible, and shared support allows farmers to overcome challenges together. This cooperative structure is now used as a model to help improve coffee quality when individual farms need extra support. On the farms, coffee is grown alongside beans, legumes, sweet potatoes and other crops. This mixed approach spreads income throughout the year while providing food for families, with most plots cultivating around six crops. High-altitude growing and careful land stewardship ensure each harvest supports both people and place.
