Glasgow: The Universe, Reality or Simulation?

This month, we're swapping the hills for the stars and heading to Glasgow Science Centre for an evening in the planetarium.

This is the first in a series of planetarium lectures we're hoping to head along to over the winter months. If you've never been before, the planetarium is pretty spectacular, with images of space projected right across the dome above you.

For this first lecture, we'll be joining Scotland's Astronomer Royal, Professor Catherine Heymans, as she tackles a rather enormous question: could we actually be living inside a simulation?

Inspired by a question from her son, Catherine will take us from the strange world of quantum physics to the vastness of the dark Universe, exploring whether humanity could ever create a virtual universe as rich and complicated as our own.
